The Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University is situated in the historical peninsula of Istanbul, combining rich academic heritage with a distinguished architectural presence. Its main building, designed by architects Emin Onat and Sedad Hakkı Eldem in the 1940s, spans the area between the Laleli and Beyazıt districts. The campus integrates lecture halls, humanities-departments, research centres and student services within a single urban block. With its deep roots in the reform era of 1933, the Faculty continues its mission in literature, languages, philosophy, sociology and allied fields.
